FPS have dropped markedly

Featured Replies

Hopefully someone can help me here.I have lost all ability to modify the "Display Settings" from inside FS9. i cant move any of the sliders. they are greyed out. My frames have gone from 35fps to 3-19 frames depending on where I am and what scenery is in use. I have tried to correct this today by uninstalling FS and then installing it again with no joy. It is very frustrating. I am thinking it must be something to do with dispaly adapter but for the life of me I cant figure out what it is.System is AMD Barton 2600VIA KT 600 "AK77-600GN" Mobo1 Gig RamSaphire ATI Radeon 9600XT (256meg) AGP (latest catalyst drivers)On board sound/networkI did some tweaking for Day of Defeat through that programmes .cfg file but cant see how that could effect FS.PC is running first person shooters at exceptional frames so the degradation for FS is driving e crazy.Any help, tweaks, internal tweaks etc anyone can suggest i am willing to dry. When I uninstalled FS9 today I went throgh add/remove programmes on all my addons first eg FSNAV and aircraft PMDG, Aerosoft etc. When I clicked on uninstall FS9 it would not let me due to an error I did not pay any attention to so I just deleted the entire Microsoft games directory. Could i have missed something i should have deleted for a clean install of FS?Cheers in advance

Sounds like you need to reinstall your motherboard's chipset drivers. Might just as well cruise on over to your MB's site and get the latest version for your board.Good luck,Greg

wouldn't hurt to update your video drivers if you haven't done so already
