December 19, 200520 yr Everyone,You can see from the enclosed screen shot my problem. I'm running two Leaktek GeForce 6600GT in SLI mode (but with SLI disable I still have the same thing). Any drivers above the 70 series results in the corruption you see. It is random and shows up in both the map and outside the cockpit window. This includes the text, which I think is interesting. It doesn't matter if it's windowed or full-screen. I've also gone into FS itself and turned on/off all hardware display setting, including resolutions to see if it makes a difference...no joy.I am stumped on this one. I would like to use the 80 series because they are supposed to offer performance improvements for SLI and dual core. Maybe not so important for FS, but it is for my other stuff.By the way, I get this corruption with a "virgin" install of FS9, so I don't think it's add-on dependant.Appreciate any input,ChrisAVSIM FP Editorhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/135949.jpg
December 19, 200520 yr Hi Chris, unfortunately, you're not the only person facing troubles with the 80-series. There's an extensive thread in the other Avsim hardware forum. http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...11381&mode=fullI hope Nvidia sorts these issues ASAP for those who are plagued with it. One post indicates Nvidia is aware of the problem (pls note, I'm unaware whether that mention is restricted to particular hardware and whether includes your 6600). Good luck to you and kind regards Jaap
December 19, 200520 yr Hi Chris,You are not alone. I had thought it was restricted only to 7800 family users (as one poster on the PMDG forums with a 6800GT had noted that he wasn't having any problems with the latest NVIDIA drivers) but your experience would seem to show that it's more or less across the board.I left FS9 for a while and late last week, started it up again (with the official 81.95 drivers on the NVIDIA Web site). The start up screen still shows corruption and loading the PMDG 747-400 is awfully slow. When the flight first loads, I get texture corruption mostly in the PMDG cockpit similar to the screenshots posted on the thread Jaap had linked. The strange thing was, I then let FS9 sit there for a while (10-15 minutes) and eventually, the textures sorted themselves out. It was quite strange but finally, when I was all ready to pushback and taxi, I saw no texture corruption whatsoever. I then proceeded to fly a longhaul flight from CYVR to VHHH without a problem. No guarantees that would work and the drivers certainly still need some work but maybe try just letting the aircraft sit for a while? (Also, switch views every so often and/or look to the right, left etc.)Edwin
December 19, 200520 yr I too am stuck with the 78.xx series drivers till nvidia fixes this problem. Kinda sux having a 7800GTX & not being able to use the latest drivers with it, but such is life.
December 22, 200520 yr I've only had about three minutes to play with the new drivers. They do seem to fix the problem but only partially. For example, loading the PMDG 747-400 still results in corruption of the startup screen and the plane loads very slowly (going through the Navaids etc.) But otherwise, within the game, the ground textures load okay now.I just got Radar Contact V4 yesterday and also seem to have some trouble configuring the ADVDISP software but that may not be related to the driver, instead to my inexperience with the software.Edwin
December 22, 200520 yr Hmm, 81.98 seems to work well for me, no problems as of yet. tried loading various aircraft & all textures appeared as they should.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/136273.jpg
