December 19, 200520 yr Do you have integrated video on the motherboard or a video card on an expansion slot? If it's the former it could be a hardware issue with the motherboard. If it's the latter I would try a different slot and see if it goes away. ...did you try to adjust the display settings, refresh rates, etc?
December 19, 200520 yr hi, not sure what your asking? I have a kinda old Ge Force MX4000 Asylum 128MB Vid card that i replaced in march. and installed it in the same slot as the orginal card was. and worked fine so far.? And I did not change any setting for the monitor or it's refresh rates which is at 60 from what i saw in the properties window? any more suggestions? could it be the Vid card itself going bad?
December 19, 200520 yr Hi Mike,If you have access to a working monitor, try disconnecting your current monitor and connecting that to your computer. Alternatively, try connecting a working computer to your current monitor. The idea is to isolate the issue i.e. determine whether the problem lies with the monitor or the computer. While you're at it, check the pins on the plug that connects the monitor to the video card. Make sure that when you're connecting/disconnecting the plug, the plug goes *straight* in and *straight* out. It could be that one of the pins are bent and not connecting properly.Hope this helps.Edwin
