Need opinion on Dell 2405FPW from current users?

I guess no one was able to answer my question. Well my 2405 arrived today and all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!! Screen shots can not do it justice. I'm running FS2004 at 1920x1200 and I see NO FPS drops what so ever. The panels don't even look as streched to me as some had reported. I feel like I'm in the cockpit when in 2D and when in outside view, I feel like I should have a boarding pass. This was by far the best upgrade I made. And yes the image quality over my 19in CRT is way more crisp. I did upgrade my video card to a ATI X800XT PE which has no problems running it.

I would have replied if I had seen sooner.I got mine about two months ago. It's likely the best investment I made in 2005. It changes the whole perspective of flying FS9. I did upgrade my video card from a 9800 to an x850 cause the standard 9800 had general issues running in native resolution. My only issue seems to be the standard gripe many LCD users have; that's the issue with night textures. I see something that I'd consider a kind of "steaking" with lighter shades in the night, i.e., haze or cirrus clouds (?) that don't seem to blend as well with the darkness. Otherwise, I'm very happy and would never go back to a CRT.Enjoy.Ed Lin, D.O.S.

EdI was worried about night textures myself but they look incredible. It

Gee -- then maybe I'm doing something wrong. Guess it's time to post a screenie and see what happens. Thanks.Ed Lin, D.O.S.

Hi all, Well, finally caved in and bought one of these today, should have it next week. Could anyone post some screenshots of the monitor in use pref with a 2d panel so i can see what to expect. Thanks very much!

These shots were sent to me from a friend. They are the PMDG 737, 747, LDS767, RFP747 and PSS777. You will notice some streching but once you've flown FS2004 in WS, you'll never look back. It's so life like, it's hard to discribe in photos.
