March 2, 200620 yr Ok guys, just got a new motherboard a Gigabyte GA-KNMF-9 NF4 4xProblem is as followed i setup a new hardisk with clean winxp install no errors, now here things go weird. I transfer my XFX6800GS from my old board and everything installs fine motherboard drivers and so on no problems. However after i install the latest Nvidia forceware (allready tried older ones too) for the 6800 my taskmanager gives me between 70 to 80% usage constantly. (even after shutting down ALL SERVICES) running in the background it stays the same high usage..However after removing the display drivers, everything is fine again.. Install them and the problems is back again.. What gives??? any you guys have some advice??Its a clean install (No internet active, spyware or stuff like that)New harddrive tested on different system= AOK6800GS tested on other system= AOKRAM tested= AOKplease please some advice guys.Aziz
March 2, 200620 yr Hi Aziz, that's a real toughie! Perhaps download FileMon and RegMon by SysInternals? These programs will visualize which calls are being made by the OS and/or software. FileMon is here: http://www.sysinternals.com/FileAndDiskUtilities.htmlRegMon is here: http://www.sysinternals.com/ProcessesAndTh...sUtilities.htmlDid you try different driver versions or do they all provoke the same behaviour? Hope this helps and I wish you good luck with your quest. Kind regards Jaap
March 2, 200620 yr Hi Jaap, Thanks for the quick reply, will check those programs and see what turn out, will report back in the next few days, any more help or suggestions what so ever much appreciated :)Aziz
March 2, 200620 yr No worries, Aziz. Perhaps also check specialized GPU sites like Driverheaven or Guru3D? FileMon and RegMon certainly are do-it-yourself procedures... :-) Please excuse that I missed your mention about having tried various drivers... Good luck and kind regards Jaap
March 5, 200620 yr Well looked at those programs, and everything looks normal. Again problem persists after installing the forceware, I contacted gigabyte and they are now looking into my probelm with the board, the said might be a problem with the xfx driver and their nforce 4 (4x). will wait what turns up if they dont fix it ill rma the board and get some other brand since it seems to work fine on MSI , Asus, DFI etc..Aziz
