FS 9.1 yet again,

Featured Replies

Hi,does anyone know what this really means at all please,The description for Event ID ( 1000 ) in Source ( Microsoft Flight Simulator 9.0 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. I have been trying to find this out for ages, does this mean that I might have a service stopped, or not enabled etc that could be causing this, it's driving me mad.Thanks,P4 Intel, 3.0, ATI XT800 PE, 1024 Corsair ExtremeFresh install of XP Pro, with SP2, all drivers and up-dates current. No add-on's at all, just naked FS and the Patch.

Steve,Could it be that you have/had IE7 Beta?. This error can be caused by a conflict between Fs9 and IE7 BETA. FS crashes when its trying to display HTML content of the in-game menu. Problem could be solved by uninstalling IE7.

Hi Davis, yes I was aware of the IE7 stuff before, but this is all a clean re-format, with xp pro and sp2 and nothing anywhere near related to anything beta at all.I learnt from my previous mistakes, however, I have only ever made one telephone call to MS FS tech support, so I have one phone call left, and I intend to call them tomorrow morning and see what they have to say about this.I will keep you posted on the results.Than ks for the response though Davis, I do indeed remember you from before, lol, when I found out about the ocx or whatever file it was, but I decided to start all over again.this might be a bit on the obsessive side to some, but I have long been of the opinion that if something is worth doing, it's worth doing right. Thanks again.

anyone heard if the new Windows Live Messenger has any effect on FS at all!I shoulden't think it does, but then again, we didn't think that IE7 would either,Thanks.
