Best Suited to FS9 GPU Engine - ATi or Nvidia??? Where Can I find Info???

Having just configured and ordered a new Intel Conroe based system I am now hunting for a new GPU card. The first place I looked was over at the PC hardware sites/forums. There are literally thousands of reviews and articles featuring Geforce and Radeon cards and many offer an outstanding set of benchmark tests too. What I want to know is, firstly, why does the industry, or at least those that review the cards seem to focus almost entirely on raw power, benchmarks, FPS etc; and secondly, why does every review test only the same select few games over and over again? I understand that many folks enjoy the likes of Doom 3, Quake 4, UT, Half life, Far Cry etc, but what about FS9??? I have nothing against benchmark testing, but would like to see more of thid for FS9. Additionally, finding GPU related articles more specific to flight simulation is like looking for a needle in a haystack!Ideally, I would like to hear more about texture shading and overall display quality than I would FPS. What is the point of having an astounding 120 FPS from a GPU if the card provides less than astounding visual quality? FS9 is not as fast a game as many other games today. Afterall it is an entirely different set up. It is more reliant on CPU power than GPU.Is there such a thing as an FS9/general Flight sim GPU review? Something that explains which cards best support the type of Graphics engine found in FS9 and various other games, rather than just talking about 'FPS', 'clock speeds' & 'benchmark results'? I know that ATi Radeon cards offer supposedly better AA & AF at higher settings, but then there are certain other features found in FS9 that are better supported by Geforce cards. It is not hard to choose a GPU if you happen to play any of those games mentioned above, but, if like me, you are interested in configuring your GPU for FS9 & FSX then the task is much harder. Obviously I realise that GPU power is an issue for any game, but overall, texture quality is more important to me than that of 100+ FPS. I just don't want to fall into the trap of buying an expensive GPU card purely on benchmark results. FS9/FSX has to look right.Where can I find information relating to GPU texturing and Flight Sim supported engines? Many thanks in advance.Scratch1964
