August 29, 200619 yr Hi Gang, this may seem like a strange question, but, is there any way that the sound settings in windows can be altered, or even the sound card.I have a Plantronics Audio 90 headset, it's very good, but I would like to crank up the volume slightly, as even with the sound volume on the in-line volume turned right up, it's still not that loud.and before anyone asks, no, I'm not deaf, but I would like to have the volume a bit louder for watching some of the downloaded video files, and music etc, some of them are very quiet.I do appreciate any help or suggestions that you might have,my sound card is a hercules digifire 7.1Thanks.

August 30, 200619 yr Hi Steve,Have you tried this: Start> Control Panel> Sound, Speech and Audio Devices> Sound and Audio Devices> On the "Volume" page make sure "Device Volume" is set to "High". Then click on the "Advanced" tab and set the vertical slider for "Volume Control" to it's highest setting. Do the same for the "Speaker Settings" (at the bottom of the "Volume" page) by clicking on the "Speaker Volume" tab and making sure that both sliders are all the way to the right.Hope this helps,Greg
