Updating my BIOS following guide from pcstats.com

Featured Replies

I'm updating my BIOS according to this guide:http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1605&page=1I'm on this page:http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.c...id=1605&page=4And I have these questions about it:I created a DVD + RW that has the BIOS files I downloaded from my Mfr.'s website. The files are:A1036AMS.253AFUDOS.exeflash.batI burned them to a DVD using CDBurnerXP Pro 3. It is a "Joliet" burn, I have no idea what that means. Will that work?I'm still confused as to how to burn the drdos703.iso to a DVD using CDBurnerXP Pro 3.I see that the file I'm burning to the DVD is a .iso, so what settings to I need to do to the burning program to have it work as a bootable DVD? Do I need to burn using "ISO Level 1", or "ISO Level 2"? Or do I just use "Joliet"?Mind you: I have no idea what any of those are...I'm planning on reformatting my HD before updating my BIOS, it was recommended if I'm going to wipe my drive, I should update BIOS before reinstalling OS. I'd like to make a backup of my old version BIOS incase I need it. Can I have my external HD connected and write it to that? Or does that need windows to run?
