March 27, 200719 yr First off, I have reinstalled windows and never have I had the issue with my folders that I am having now. It absolutely MUST be a windows update that hapened recently and i need to know how to undo it as this is a VERy annoying problem. After reinstalling windows, I found that in the folder where I have all of my FS downloads, I cannot create a folder or move any files or delete anything. I am logged onto my computer as administrator, but have NO rights to this folder. I have tested functions in various other folders at random and have full rights, but for some bloody reason this folder is locked. The sad part is I CAN share the folder on the network so I can see it from my gaming machine, but I cant make any changes to the folder at all :-(=========SYMPTOMS:=========When attempting to move something from another folder into the folder and got the following error:"Error Copying File or Folder. Cannot copy (filename here): Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use."---------------------------------------When attempting to delete a file within the folder:"Error Deleting File or Folder. Cannot delete (filename here): Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use."----------------------------------------When attempting to create a new folder:"Unable to create folder. Unable to create the folder 'New Folder'. Access is denied."===========================STEPS TAKEN TO TROUBLESHOOT===========================--> Assured I am logged on as administrator--> Ran secpol.msc and found that under "Local Policies ->Security Options -> Network access: Sharing and security" I was set to "Guest only - local users authenticate as Guest" so I changed it to what it should be: "Classic - local users authenticate as themselves".--> Folder properties - permissions - Everyone - set to Full Control, Change and read.--> Folder properties - security - . . . . S-1-5. . . 3 entries -- all have full control!!!! Everyone - Does NOT have full control!!! I can't change this!!!! I used to be able to before the reinstall of windows. What did I miss here????? This must be my problem!!!
