Hi all,I am using Nvidia's control panel to spread my screen view over two screens. This gives an image of twice the width of normal, obviously, given that both screens are of similar width/depth ratio. It works for VC, tower and spot view in all sims, but not in 2D without having a special panel, as the panel is spread to twice the width.Currently I run a 19" and a 17" LCD.... although the "step" between the two is acceptable, I am thinking of buying another 19" to improve this formatting. My question is.... can I mix a normal screen with a new wideview screen i.e. WIDER than 19", and still see proper perspective in the VC image? Or must they both have the same resolution setting? Or, indeed, can I do this by configuring the screens to appropriate resolutions, so as to get a continuous image? Has anyone tried all this? Here is a wideview screenie from my 19" and 17", formatted 2048x768, just for your interest:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/171674.jpgThanks for any response.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cx.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/avsimlogo.jpg[/a]

Hi Mark, hope you're doing well. Not much I can add other than widescreens having different 'lower' resolutions than a regular 19". So most 1680x1050 & 1440x900 panels will continue to produce a step either way. Larger panels also have a pretty significant impact on performance.Ever thought of something like this? ;-) It's still fairly beta... :-) Cheers and kind regards Jaap

Projection? I most certainly have, yes, and have tried it too. Mixed results. But it's one option for when my DC-3 cockpit finally gets built. When? Probably when man reaches Gliebe 681c, I should think :)Thanks for the input.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cx.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/avsimlogo.jpg[/a]

>>Probably when man reaches Gliebe 681c, I should think :)<< Wasn't that scheduled for fairly soon..? :-) Hi Mark, Indeed, projection has loads of benefits and obviously also a couple of drawbacks. Despite being fairly silent, noise is worth a mention. For example; white text documents on the wall are 'unbareable' because those LCD-mirrors go totally bezerk. Maybe this is model specific? On the positive side and as you certainly know, the immersion factor is unbeatable. Another very nice side-effect is taking some strain off the graphic system - the resolution is almost half that of my TFT (1680x1050 vs 1280x720). Or being able to use lower zooms - meaning closer to 1 than 0.5. One final great advantage IMO is, it's one huge(!) view without the 'shift' caused by monitor frames. Certes, there might be a workaround for this, but I never managed to get a satisfying and easy to use multimonitor setup. :-( FYI, the machina itself cost ca 1000 Euros in the end (Panasonic AE900). ...Min d you, PLUS a mini-fortune in wiring and equipment! :-) Anyway, hope you don't mind I rambled on a bit. I tend to have modest expectations but this really blew me off my seat! :-) Cheers and kind regards Jaap
