Rick,Its always best/recomended not to have any "unknown" things showing up, I/O basically stands for Input/Output (device) now it can be several things, but its mostly mobo onboard-related. In most cases re-installing your mobo chipset drivers (found at your mobo makers website)should resolved it, if for some reason that didnt do it, it could be one of your PCI cards missing their (a) driver.

Davis i installed the latest chipset drivers, but still have this "problem" with I/O controller. In my win xp hardware, devices it shows no problems, maybe it's better to leave it like this???RickPent 4 3.0ht 2048mb asus p4c800hd 200gb maxtor maxtor 7200 rpmclub3d 1950 pro agp 25621"IIyama crt19" relisys crtwin xp sp2 CH yoke + pedals + throttle Quadrant+ 1dell 1hp laptop for asv6.5+GePro etcPmdg73/74Pax/F B1900c/d Lds 767+ 1dell 1hp laptop for asv etc
