Will My Macbook Pro Play FSX Properly?

Featured Replies

Hey i just got new mbp with new intel chip it is the low end 15 inch mbp. It has 2gb ram 2.2ghz intel chip GeForce 8600M GT with 128mb graphics card. Do you think i can run fsx well in bootcamp or should i stick to fs 2004?

Hi, you can always try. FWIW, GPU RAM consumption more or less goes paired with the 'Global Texture Quality' (GTQ) slider. 128MB will allow doing 256x FSX-textures nicely - worst case maybe 128x? Don't ask me how that looks! :-) With FS9, you'll have to find a way to not send too much to the GPU either. 256MB would have been better. Try GTQ max and if it doesn't work go back to 512x textures (1 notch down). Hope this adds to thoughts, kind regards Jaap
