do I need to learn a greater finesse.................?

Featured Replies

Hi All,Thanks to Antti Pankkonen and his excellent helicopter w/ working autopilot I am once agian enjoying helicopter flying. However it seems a little difficult to hand fly. I have been used to Ian Steadfast's Dauphin which [imho] think is an excellent flight model. do I need to learn a greater finesse or are there any tweaks i can do to make it a little less sensitive? Thanks in advance,Tom

Gee I hand fly (by preference) Antti's Dauphin all the time and find it to be most stable and easy to fly.......... much MUCH more so than my Hughes 500D or even the default Bell 206B.Perhaps you simply need a lighter hand and smaller control movements. But I'm no helicopter expert, so I could be full of hot air!! :-lol One thing I have noticed though is once you get used to a specific helicopter and then move to another model, you almost have to learn to fly all over again. -Lindy :-rotor

I too find it most easy to fly but maybe that is because I have not engaged the Auto Pilot yet :-) I find myself going to it more and more as it is becoming my default air craft. Just remember "fingers and toe's" not fist and feet. It has been good to see an air craft generate so much interest and get so many people excited. I wonder if it is the challenge of making it work? God I hope I never stop learning.John :-rotor
