August 30, 200223 yr I haven't been able to shut Annti's awesome Dauphin down yet. I mean to the point where the rotors stop spinning. Is it possible? Also, anyone have the config for the logitech digital wingman? I can fly it but if I accidently hit "shift 2" I lose control. Thanks! Andy
August 30, 200223 yr Hi.Follow the full shut down sequence... and wait... and wait some more. The rotors do stop, they just take a long time to do it, as in real life if they were to stop without the aid of the rotor brake.CheersAlun
August 30, 200223 yr Theres is a way you can simulate a rotor brake by using the collective. Once Nr (rotor rpm) gets below 40% of its rpm, you can fully increase the collective (slowly) to quickly stop the rotor. You have to be careful when you do this because if you do it too early, you can become airborne for a few seconds and then you become grounded :( Robert
August 31, 200223 yr Robert,After the engines are stopped? Rotor brakes help stop the rotor once the turbines are stopped, and there is no compression.
August 31, 200223 yr Thanks for the replies, guess I've never waited long enough, sure hope a rotor brake can be put in with the next version! :) This ship is simply awesome!
August 31, 200223 yr Raises the question, has anyone ever "programmed" a rotor brake into Heli models for FS?
August 31, 200223 yr I asked Antti about the possibilitys of a rotorbrake, but he said he had no idea on how to make it work.. I think with all the other stuff he has done on the heli, it will only be a matter of time before its possible.http://www.avsim.com/vfr_center/avsim_sig.jpg
September 1, 200223 yr Sure, after the engines are shut down (as soon as they spin down below 40% during the shutdown). Its just like controlling collective during an autorotaion. Robert
