Featured Replies

I downloaded that really impresive daulphin and i noticed that my joystick dosn't work. Now befor you go yelling at me and telling me to read the READ ME STUPID!!!! I will save you the troble YES i have read it and tryed the whole turne off the joystick turn it back on thing but it dosn't work I also know that not all the joysticks are programed into it so can anyone help me. I have a Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D Digital. Any help would be great Thanks.

Have you checked the dauphin.cfg and made sure that it corresponds with your joystick? Is the .cfg in the correct location? (fs2002 root directory) do you have the all the other files in the correct places? Yeah they might seem basic questions, but with a bird as complex as this one its easy to miss one small object. Might want to scout through some of the other posts in this forum... there are lots of posts with regards to the dauphin.... Dont let it get the better of you, the rewards are staggering... :-)Rgdshttp://www.avsim.com/vfr_center/avsim_sig.jpg

I just did and saw nothing that refers to the joystick except maybe # of devices if that is it how do i modify it?

You have a stick....... any pedals? If not, the first line of your cfg should reflect that you have only 1 control device. When you say your joystick doesn't work, can you get the Dauphin started? (I'm presuming you have the most recent version of the Dauphin, vers 1.1) Try flying it by disabling the joystick -- DO NOT RE-ENABLE IT. You do need to call up the Pedestal "window" which should enable the Dauphin to "see" the controls via the config. Once you've called it up, you can close it back down -- you don't have to fly with the Pedestal showing. It took me several re-reads of the manual before I started understanding some of what needs to be done (this was with the first version). You might re-reading the manual just to see if you might be overlooking something. Getting the stick set up in the config is very much a trial and error procedure, but worth it.Something else I noticed with the newer version is if you're having trouble starting it up, you need to enrich the mixture using the FS keyboard (Ctrl-Shift-F3, I think). At least I have to do that almost every time. -Lindy :-wave

i figured out how to fix the joystick problem just delet the Daulphin.cfg. it should work but back up the original just in case. Enjoy.:);):-rotor

Its all very well to delete the dauphin.cfg file, but its that file that allows you to fly the heli correctly and make most of the Autopilot features.... http://www.avsim.com/vfr_center/avsim_sig.jpg

"tryed the whole turne off the joystick turn it back on thing"Don't turn it back on. To fly the Dauphin you need to edit the Dauphin.cfg for your particular joystick setup, place it in the FS2002 main folder and DISABLE the joystick. Once you load up the Dauphin at your desired Airport hit Shift+2 to allow the .GAU to read the Dauphin.cfg and control the Heli (Joystick does not control aircraft like the rest of FS2002) You don't need to fly with the pop up pedestal showing all the time, once you've pressed it once, you can close it if you wish.Hope this helpsAlun
