helicopter collective

Featured Replies

hi, im wondering if anybody has pictures of helicopter collectives from the side angle, particularly the hh-3 pelican, im wondering because im doing a heli project for flight sim(making my own controls) and i am trying to replicate the friction adjustment and extension as you pull up on the cyclicthanksryan

Here's two that I took at an airshow for the very thing that you are doing. The two helicopters that I took photographs of at the airshow were a Bell Huey, flown by the local Sheriff's department, and a Blackhawk flown by the local Air cav. Huey:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d7adb5c12dd0eee.jpgBlackhawk:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d7adb7912f79d43.jpgTotal travel is 8 to 12 inches at the grip from bottom to top, and the bottom does not necessarily sit horizontally. Also notice that these are taken of the left side, but the controls should be identical. (Actually, the Blackhawk copilot collective has a friction lock telescoping function.) It was easier to take photographs of the collective from there!Hope this helps!Derek

in the huey picture, do those two white lines signify where the collective moves to?thanks alot by the way, these pics really helped

Yes, as far as I could tell. I took the pictures so I could see the relationship between the cyclic, seat and collective.Glad I could help!Derek

Have a look at this pic:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...1856995669&rd=1Also, I have one of these for my own flightsim. If you want close up pics, send me an E mail and I will get you as many pics as you want.Steve
