October 19, 200223 yr I finally got the dauphin up and running and everything was working fine. Then last night I added the gps_export.dll to my modules folder and after that my pedals don't work when the joystick is disabled. I am not sure that the gps_export.dll had anything to do with the pedals but that was the only change I made to the chopper. I've done some research here on the forum and I see that some people have had this experience also, but I did't see any resolution. Any ideas?? I am using the 1.1 version of the dauphin. I go through the start up procedure and my joystick and collective come alive but the pedals... This is my config: CH Products - F16 Fighterstick; Pro Throttle; and Pedals - all analog. Thanks for any ideas.ps I've tried all the combinations of available axis for yaw, Z,rX,rY with no luck.number_of_devices=1;cyclic_pitch=1,Y;cyclic_roll=1,X;yaw=1,rZ;collective=1,SLIDER0;force_trim_release=1,BUT4;beep_trim=1,POV2;snap_view=2,POV0;pan_view=1,POV0;toggle_landing_gear=1,BUT0;toggle_cycl_fd=1,BUT0;toggle_coll_fd=1,BUT0;toggle_coupler=1,BUT0;go_around=1,BUT0;brakes=1,BUT1;
October 20, 200223 yr No help???? I really want to fly this chopper so any suggestions to get it working are welcome.
October 21, 200223 yr If everything was working fine before you added the file to the Modules folder, have you tried removing the file and going back to the way it was before? Also I thought that the new version (1.1) no longer required that the joystick be disabled. Have you tried flying it WITH the joystick enabled?Sorry, but that's about all I can think of. These suggestions are pretty basic and you've probably tried 'em already. I wish I could just get my entire program back up and running!! :-rollGood luck.-Lindy :-wave
October 21, 200223 yr Hey Lindy,Thanks for the response, I have to investigate the issue with the joystick a little more, it that is indeed the case that the joystick does not have to be disabled w/ version 1.1 then I should be good to go. Again thanks for the response. Much appreciated!!!!
October 21, 200223 yr Hi all! I saw this posted on the other site, and gather it was intended for you. I couldn't work our how to link it, so I thought I'd copy it for you.Hi,This post responds to a thread in the rotorhead forum on "the other side"...I'd have posted it there but can't log in & havent received a reply to my request to reset password. I'd be grateful if someone could post a link on the authors thread or direct him here as nobody's responded to the guy's problem.RichB's query relates to Antti's Dauphin - suddenly he's lost yaw control; the pedals have stopped working.I had the same problem a while ago. The heli was fine for a while then suddenly it stopped reacting to rudder input and one engine refused to wind down on shut down. So I emailed Antti and after a brief exchange, sorted it. Here's the email content. If you're a fan of Antti's helicopter, it makes interesting reading.from Antti:Hi,I have noticed the shutdown bug myself. It seems a click ofCTRL+SHIFT+F1 is necessary to finish things up after pulling the fuel levers to cut off.As for the yaw control, try flying with autopilot & flight director coupled and see if the AP can control the yaw axis. If it does, then the problem is in the input program. Otherwise something's wrong with the control system.In general, one thing to try before reinstall is to delete Dauphin.sav from FS2002 root directory. This save file contains some aircraft parameters and switch positions and the gauge program automatically rewrites it each time you exit the Dauphin.regards,AnttiHi,Thanks, at least I know it isnt just me. when the rudder thing appeared the first sign was the machine being unable to hold a heading in hover mode and gradually going into a spin - ap all set correctly. I tried turning off the ap & flying her manually -no dice, wouldnt respond to rudder input at all.I did delete the Dauphin .sav file, but only when i went to reinstall the file....R.Hi,One thing that might cause the yaw problem: there's an undocumented feature, namely the HYD ISOLATE switch in the overhead panel. In real aircraft this switch isolates tail servocontrol from the rest of the hydraulic circuit. Itis used in event of hydraulic failure/leakage in the tail area. Also in this simulated version the switch completely disables all yaw control. So, make sure the switch is always in the NORMAL position.-AnttiDeleting the .sav file & checking the HYD ISO switch position fixed the problem for me. RegardsRobin.LonelyplanetXO on the zone
October 21, 200223 yr Airprox,Thanks a million for getting this over here for all of us. Now I am all set to take off and enjoy the true beauty of this machine. I really appreciate your looking out for a fellow simmer... Take care!!!
October 22, 200223 yr I am glad to announce that after reading Antii's instructions regarding the Tail Rotor Hydraulic switch on the overhead panel I got yaw control back and flew the hell out of the Dauphin last night. It has my vote for the best freeware add-on aricraft if you look at just pure flying and don't consider installation etc. Thanks to everyone who helped.
October 25, 200223 yr That HYD ISO switch certainly did the trick for me too in restoring my yaw control! Thanks very much for the information.Now, if I could only make button 7 work for retracting/extending the gear. I'm using a Microsoft Force Feedback 2 USB and CH Pro Pedals USB. My Dauphin.cfg is...number_of_devices=2;cyclic_pitch=1,Y;cyclic_roll=1,X;yaw=2,rZ;collective=1,SLIDER0;force_trim_release=1,BUT1;beep_trim=1,POV0;snap_view=1,POV0;toggle_landing_gear=1,BUT7;toggle_cycl_fd=1,BUT5;toggle_coll_fd=1,BUT3;toggle_coupler=1,BUT4;go_around=1,BUT2;brakes=1,BUT6;reverse_collective;Tom
October 25, 200223 yr That's interesting. I have the toggle gear mapped to a button on my joystick (button 2 as it turns out) and it works great!!!! My stick is a Saitek Cyborg 3D USB. I can't understand why it won't work for you too. Have you tried mapping the command to a different button.Actually I even have this automatic pause/gear/resume feature added to my other RG helo - the GMAX Bell 222 - and I love it. But I sometimes wonder why there is such a limitation for the helos to begin with.... MS certainly had no problem getting the retractable gear on the fixed wing aircraft to work. So what's the big deal with RG on the helos?? :-hmmm-Lindy :-rotor
October 25, 200223 yr Hi Lindy,Thanks for the reply! I was going to tinker with moving the gear to another button this weekend. The darn thing used to work on button 7, but for some reason gave up. At least now I know I can fix the yaw problem whenever it occurs by flipping the HYD ISO switch on the overhead panel (mine has to be "OFF" instead of "NORMAL"), so it's nice having anti-torque control again. Your question on the funky RG is one that has been eating at a number of folks for quite some time. I hope on the next version of FS that they get this fixed.Have a good weekend!Tom
