April 29, 200719 yr I have been flying rotor aircraft for some time since FS2002 (I'm curently flying both '02 and ACOF) and I've recently run across a few interesting problems. I downloaded a Sikorsky 70A package from Hovercontrol, installed all of the various versions, and when I go to fly the aircraft I cannot get the engines to start. Note: when I start to sim, I start with a dark cockpit and the engine off. Can someone please point me to what I what I am missing or what needs to be fixed? The second part of my question has to do with helicopters outside of this package. I downloaded and installed a CH53 and while I am able to get the engines started, I cannot generate enough RPMs to the rotors to create lift. Can some please assist me in figuring out where the problem is?Thanks in advance
May 2, 200719 yr Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but in the Hovercontrol instructions, almost all of them need to either be first loaded after a default AC, or started from one of the HC flights.Once this is done you can shut them down, save the flight and everything will usually start correctly after that.I know this was true of the 412 and most of Jordans are this wayRobertR
May 3, 200719 yr Thanks for the reply. Let me make sure I understand this. I need to load any default aircraft, then load the HC aircraft - shut down the engines, save the flight, and everthing should work fine after that.I'll give it a try when I get home this evening.Cecil
May 3, 200719 yr Can't say that will work with all of them, but all of Hovercrafts Heli's have so far seemed to respond that way.Just to verify what I have done. Load a default Cessna for example and let it settle down. Load your heli, verify that everything is kosher, then shut the heli down according to the checklist. Save this flight and you should be ready to go.Robert
May 4, 200719 yr Robert -Thank you! I tried it with one of the birds last night and it worked. Just when you thought you had it figured it, you learn something new.Thank you again.Cecil
May 4, 200719 yr Cecil, you're most welcome. I think that's one of the fascinations (not to mention frustrations) that keeps us coming back to some of these programs .. we're continually learning no matter how long we've been with them. :-)Robert
