98 or 2000

Featured Replies

Hey,Which operating system should be used with EPIC and the related software? I've noticed in some of docs it appears to indicate 2000 should be used. I am running Epicenter 1.1.50 by the way. If you need 2000 running to support EPIC, what do you do about sims that run under 98? Can you have EPIC connected to another system that the sim is not running on? That would mean some type of communication between the machines, the one the EPIC is connected to and the one the sim is running on. If someone can give me some detail on this I would appreciate it, I am a little confused right now. I have two sims that run under 98 and was hoping to use EPIC with them. The way I understand it now, it looks like I want be able to do that. Thanks for any help!Dave

DaveI do not have the answer for you but a question about the same topic as yours. So I posted it in this thread. It's about pete dowson epic.vxd driver and the different windows versionson bluesied up I read at some pages that "You must have Peter Dowson's EPIC.VXD loaded and working correctly"But from pete dowson I heard that vxd's can not be used under NT or XP.Question1:The EPIC USB has it own drivers. Is it possible to use the code from blue side up in that case although it states that the EPIC.VXD is needed?Question2:With EPIC USB under XP can I expect any limitations at this moment.Thank a lot for any light on thisNorbert Bosch EHAM
