LOCKUPS on an 18mhz USB

Featured Replies

Anyone having a similar experience with the new EpicCenter 0.1.1.50 and 0xCFDF ?Just updated to the newest version of EpicCenter version 0.1.1.50 and epprom 0xCFDF. I have two USB's, a 6mhz and a 18mhz. The 6mhz box seems to work fine with the new eeprom version and EpicCenter. The 18mhz box locks up in EpicCenter intermittently or hangs during a simulated unplug or using the Epic Info selection. The 18mhz box did have a problem with the earlier version of 0.1.1.50 and I had to use eeprom version USB9_DC8B.BIN for stability. I tried going back to the DC9B version but EpicCenter hangs while loading the compiled EPL.Here are the specs on the 18mhz box:Rev E USB @ 18mhz with enhanced SPROM v2.0EPROM v5.00, 0xCFDFAny assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Jay

Hey Jay,In a recent conversation with Ralph Robinson (R&R Electronics), he mentioned an 'issue' with 18Mhz boxes locking up. I think it's a roll of the dice if your box is affected or not - fortunately, my 18Mhz box works fine. I didn't pay too much attention since I wasn't affected but, I believe he suspects a hardware component (capacitor, crystal, etc.). I suggest you drop him an e-mail, if you haven't done so already.Good luck,Ribbs

Thanks Ribbs. I do have a note into Flight Link, but had not bothered Ralph with this yet. I'll wait to see what I hear from them.I pulled out the 18mhz and am running on the 6 for now.Jay
