Epicenter documentation

Featured Replies

Hi,Can anyone here tell me if there is documentation that covers Epicenter version 1.1.50? All the docs I have now and can find online are pre-Epicenter. I need something that starts me from the beginning. Something that explains and shows how to start programming the EPIC from the ground up. Any help is appreciated!Dave

Burning question at the moment...Does a joystick need to be connected to the EPIC card? I have only USB devices, but the docs all talk about having joysticks attached to the card and the code needing to take that into account. All I am trying to do right now is connect up several toggle switches so I can start learning about programming this thing. I already have some wiring done on the EMDA card and successfully tested some switches with the old EPIC software (the DOS/Win98 version of TEST128). So, I know from that the card, my wiring, and the switches are working and configured correctly. Now I have the card working in Windows 2000 with Epicenter 1.1.50 and can't see the same results. I imagine that something else needs doing in the software (making and loading an EPL file??), but the docs are lacking in the basics or so it seems to me. Thanks for any helpDave

Hi!I had the same problem! There is not very much information. But look in your doc directory of your epic directory, there you will find basic documentation about the syntax. I also found at MicroCockpit a nice tutorial about Epicenter! For seeing a button press in Epicenter you have to go to the Epicinfo and there to the buttons sections. But make sure, that you have defined the module that you want to scan...regards,steve

Thanks Steve! I had seen those docs, but they don't help me much. I'm not even close to being a programmer and everything seems to take an approach to someone who is familar to some type of programming. I think the EPIC is just allot more than I need and may opt for a Hagstrom encoder instead. If I can return this or sell it that is.Dave
