EPIC USB/W2k/freezes with 0.1.1.50 and CFDF

Featured Replies

Hi everybodySince I've upgraded (with a lot of problems loading the EEPROM-code)from .47 to .50 I have permanent freezes eg. with Tools/EPICinfo or downloading code. Anybody ideas? It hasn't been fun to investigate EPIC up to now, but now it is getting really frustrating. Are there any announcements about EPICenter becoming a product worth its money? Is there any QA at R&R? Or somebody who feels responsible about a documentation? I don't mean some sheet of syntax reference and user driven knowhow-transfer, I mean a handbook, a progammers reference, a cookbook! Is R&R still existing? With a look on their website it does not seem so (last update in 2000...)I don't know how many EPICs they sold, but it seems to be quite a number, so we should not take this situation as normal! Thanks for help and curious about your opinionThomas/Germany

Hi!I had the same problems. First I upgraded to Epicenter v.50 and then loaded the EEPROM with checksum CFDF and it didn't work either! I had the same freezes as you said, when I wanted to open the EPICInfo dialogwindow. It was really frustrating, but then with the help of microcokpit it worked finally. I can't describe you now entirely what I had to do, but I will pick up the mails I got and will forward it to you ..regards,steve/austria

Thomas:Did the EEPROM flashing work without incidents? Any error messages during the process? If not, you can assume that the new version is on your chip all right.About freezes and unexpected behaviour: I had a really strange thing happening to me last nite. I added some lines to my epl code and when I tried to compile the EpicCenter either froze or gave me false error messages like "line 95 ":" expected (void)". False, because I had not modified line 95 and it had passed previous compiles without a problem. The solution was: I had added a flag declaration (at the beginning of the epl file) and had forgotten the ";" at the end of the line. This sees to have caused the strange behavior of my system. After putting the missing ";" all went back to normal (only my hair is now a little grayer than before...)I thought this was something to share with fellow EPL programers. And maybe it helps in your [email protected]

HiHave the same problems epic freezes up when loading CFDF in version 1.1.50.Maybe you can send me the e-mails too?regards,rinus/the Netherlands

Hi,before I destroy my EPIC card with the CFDF-eeprom, can you please send me the emails from microcockpit, too?Best regards, guru

I too had a lot of trouble in tring to upload the v.50. I found that I had to turn something on or off when doing the eprom load. It was in the menu some where. As to lock-ups I have found that If epic is connected to any thing such as FS 2XX, or FS COMM or EPICINFO it will hang on tools, info and on load. Ron.

Hi,First load the eprom with the new eprom file.so if you want to install checksum CFDF you first have to load this version in your eprom in version 1.47 or 1.44.In short FIRST update youre eprom, then install the new version of epicenter.Should be nice if someone from the epicguys (flightlink or microcockpit)would wake up and gave us some service,huh.a340go
