Now I look up to you all for your incredible determination, you all hang in there because of your passion for what you want, and with that you will definately suceed!!! This seems to be a burmuda triangle of cards. I am trying to plan my own project of a 747-400 and just begun my studies and I mean studies. I am a Plumber, an A+ Certified Computer Technician, and a Padi Scuba Instructor, a soon to be Private Pilot, but most of all an intense Gamer first and for most. I have been searching the web sites (Most of which are incredible) the vendor sites, home cockpit etc... I have about 40 bookmarked so far and I clean up and throw out the unneccesary ones that don't apply, basically I think I'm doing what most of you probably have done as well. I have read forums like this and web sites for about 4 hours a night, I can't sit still knowing that some day the frustration will be gone and I will one day (some how) unlock the mysteries of the Great Epic!!! At this point I have all the panels picked out, the order at which I'll build, and the pc's and monitors that I'll throw together etc... But here is the funny part, I have been trying to find basic, basic, questions and have come up short. So here are my main questions;1.) "What do I start with for Epic (747-400)?"(Most web sites seem out of date because alot of talk about ISA Epic, and little talk of USB) I havent had a ISA motherboard on the last 20 boards. 2.) "Where can I buy one? (A USA site)"Well, sorry for all that wind sheer, but I hope to join you all once we get above the clouds of this Epic.PS. Whoever writes a "Epic for Dummies" book will be able to buy a real 747 fleet with all the money they'll make!!! LOL:-vuur

Dan:check http://flightlink.com/epic/.As to what EPIC to buy: definitly the USB version, ISA is outdated and will not be supported in the future. What components: Depends on how "real" you want your Cockpit to be...For a serious project the minimum (imho) would be:- extension module to get access to all buttons and analogues- 32 point output module to controll LED's and lamps and relais- 7-segment display module. Self explanatory. You might need two mods.- Rotary module to be able to use real rotary switches, like the one for volume controll in your car stereo. You could also use 12-pos mechanical rotaries to set frequencies etc. They are much cheaper and don't require the rotary module, but they don't feel so real... If you go for those, ask me for a progaming example. That should get you going. Have fun (and a lot of pacience!)Hans

Thank you very much for the Help!!! This web site is much better for me. For one prices are in english!!!:-sun1 I plan to be as realistic with this project as possible. Whether I go cheap or expensive it will still take 2 or 3 years. I like the idea of cheap, but I like quality better & usually you can't get the two together. My first order Flightlinks Epic line looks like; "Complete package #4". Big project but I'll be doing very little at a time. One reason is to build nice compartments so I can keep the whole cockpit sectional for easy upgrades and disassembly, but most important so I can stay up in the air as I build it. Especialy the fact that I have to join the rest of you in the epic struggle. I look forward to it, it is a great product unfortunately it doesn't sound like the documentation is as good. I plan on building mostly Nova Panels from FDS, except the MCPEFISEICAS. I plan on getting them from the Pro Line at CSI! Alot of money (A Wicked Lot) but after saying no-way!!! a 100 times I think I will. Have a look. Thanks Again, you've made my millenium! Now off to search the Net for Plasma Projectors, about 3 should do the trick LOL. :-lol
