EpiCenter v.0.55

Featured Replies

after all the discouraging news on .55 I would like to know if there is ANYBODY out there using the new version successfully.Hans

I'm using v55 which comes with FCC 1.0. My EPIC program is more than 1k LOC, mostly controlling KR1, and v55 works fine with EPIC USB.DAN

Dan,Forgive me, but what is FCC and LOC?Hans

Hans,FCC, Flightlink Control Center, is a set of support programs for Flightlink's AV-IFR and KR-1. You can get it from the Flightlink's download site. When FCC v1.0 was released in Janually v55 EPICenter was included. LOC statnds for Line Of Codes.BTW, I had no problem with v55 updating from v51, v50. What problems are you facing to?DAN

Dan,I have only one problem with V.50: When I use one of my free USB ports (for example with a memory stick), my keyboard - connected thru EPIC - is not recognized anymore. I have to uninstall all EPIC related stuff, delete all controllers in device manager and reinstall everything. Very anoying. I basically stopped using any other USB devices besides the ones that are installed permanently. My epl code and the EPIC run flawlessly. I heard from FlightLink that the new V.55 fixes the above problem and even if you want to send keystrokes, no EPIC keyboard is needed anymore. This is the reason why I want to upgrade. But all the reports about V.55 not working have discouraged me. You know: don't fix it if it's not broken...Hans

Hans,I understood. It must be a bad news for those who want to send a keyboard code. I'll be able to use alternatives since I myself wrote a PC code.DAN

Dan,what does your PC code do?Hans

EpiCenter 51 and 55 work the same for me. IT is the CFCF EPRom version that caused the trouble. I am using 590C Eprom.

Hans,it is a VC++ code to exchange data between FS2002 and EPIC by using FSUIPC SDK and EPICIO SDK. There were no programs available such as EPICINFO, FSCommunicator, EPIC Mapper when I started to use my EPIC USB so that I had to write a code for my own. Peter Dowson's FSUIPC is by the way very very usefull tool. I couldn't do anything without this. Thanks Pete. One more thanks to Ralph for EPICIO SDK.DAN

Are CFCF and 590C different checksums (from different upgrades) or different EEPROM chips?Hans

Dan,very cool. Thanks good I found middleware when I started.. I am now using EpicMapper and it works well.Hans
