Cockpit site

Featured Replies

Hi all,I put up a site with info on my cockpit project and all my EPIC files.www.hanskrohn.comEnjoy! (comments welcome)Hans

Nice!!I'm impressed. Are you planning to add motion any time soon?

Hans,Very nice website...still being in my "inaugural year", I couldn't help but chuckle at the History page (very well written). Thanks for your continued assistance to the community! PS I thought you said you were working on a 737???Cary

I've been toying with the idea for some time. But there are major obstacles:1. Price. A decent electric motion platform costs around 20.000 dollars.2. Interface. Does not exist and has to be written. I think this is quite a job and not doable as long as I have to spend most of my time making money. Maybe once I retire...?3. Weight. The motion platform weights in at almost one ton. I asked the architekt of my apartment and he told me that the ceilings hold no more than 250 kg/m2. So I would have to move to the garage.Maybe some day...Hans

Cary, yes and no.My cockpit is obviously a strange mix of different types, starting with the F-16 shell. But since I incorporated Project Magenta software, it has the MCP, PFD, Nav Display and CDU of a B737.I admit, sometimes I even fly the Cessna with everything switched on (exept the CDU, maybe...), and it definitly beats the standart instruments.Hans
