Analog Gauges for Falcon4

Featured Replies

Today, I had the pleasure of watching my Falcon4 gauges on a 7inch LCD monitor. I plan to mount two of these 7inch monitors in my cockpit. Once I get all of my hardware installed, I not only will be able to perform a Ramp Start, but I should also be able to fly heads-down.I found the LCD monitors at www.tundraelectronics.com under LCD screens. To send the gauge displays to the LCD monitors, you'll need F4Glass from: http://www.eagle9.nl/redir2.asp?lokatie=/main/intro.htmErwin is working on the next version of F4Glass (v1.0) and this new version is even better that the one has available for immediate download (he gave me a copy after I made a paypal donation). If you're like me, you don't want more programs running on your Falcon4 computer. Well, Erwin has solved this problem also. Erwin has a program call F4Mirror which allows computers connected via a network to access your Falcon4 shared memory. In my configuration, my two 7inch monitors will run on a second computer, not the computer where Falcon4 is running.

Jam,Very cool man. I purchased a 4" lcd a couple of months ago and have been using it for my RWR in my pit. Pretty cool so far. I have yet to get one for my guages. I was thinkingof a 7" widescreen and mounting it in my center console. I'm currently using your memreader, I guess I need to put the redefined pigeon hole file in my epl to get my lights working again. Thanks for the hard work on that deal. It's made my life a little easier for sure.Laterz,Eric

Eric, no problem, glad to help. One note on F4Glass. Since it allows you to rotate the instruments, you can mount a 7" diagonal monitor vertically and get a number of instruments displayed on it.I got all of the Falcon4 instruments located around the HSI on one 7inch display mounted vertically. One last note, I just finished coding and testing my caution light panel, so I'll be posting my EPIC project on my website with the latest version of my memreader (probably next week). You'll still need to customize the lights to your own project; I found that if you include hardware that you don't have connected, you get strange results.
