Moonlighting EPIC programmer wanted in Dallas, TX area

Featured Replies

Please respond if anyone is available in the Dallas, TX area for some basic EPIC programming.Thanks:-)

Just curious, but why would the programmer need to be located in Dallas, TX. When it comes to coding, I think it could be done from anywhere. If you're concerned about testing the code on the actual hardware, I use MS Netmeeting to remotely control my cockpit's computer (in the basement) so I can test my EPIC code from my bedroom (via a laptop). And since you can connect Netmeeting peer-2-peer, security shouldn't be an issue.Just a thought to see if you're open to other possibilities so someone will speak-up.

Ahhah. I have a good answer all be it embarrassing. The good news is I recently purchased an Aimsworth Viper cockpit and a nice PC to drive the software. The bad news...I am a Macintosh addict. This is my first PC, and probably would not know where to but the code if you gave it to me. However, I am technically adept, and put the pit together myself. so if you think you could talk me through set up and installation of the EPIC hardware (Epic USB KIT) I am open. My first priority is to install the landing gear knob, (which I have) and assign it a keyboard signal.THX

First, go here and download the manual and take a look:http://members.cox.net/martin1jam/The reason I send folks to the manual is because you have to make some initial decisions about how you wnat to wire things up, before you start installing and wiring hardware. If you look at the pictures on my site, you'll notice I put connectors on all of my switch panels. Then I wired the switch panels to the French built ABA/64BTN system (http://www.fsim.com/default.html) for connecting switches. This made my life extremely easy since I didn't have to worry about connecting inline diodes. As far as the code, I can give you my code; if all you're doing is switches, it's relatively easy to write a small project. I have 256 switches, 15 pots, 64 lights, 3 video displays so far in my pit and that get's a bit scary (still need to post my latest pictures). If all you want to do is see the landing gear switch work, email me and give me some details about your configuration and I'll send you a small project that should work. You can get my email from the website.
