CH Yoke Programming Question

Boyd, That is some good detective work. I completely understand what you are saying and if Pete does include reversing for all engines under the single Throttle assignment this will work really well. The only thing is, you will have to set the reverse (center lever) to have a null zone while all the way forward (or aft if that is the direction for reverse thrust disengage)so as not to interfere with the other two engine throttles while you are using them. Then when Reverse is disengaged it will not be able to send any jitters or spikes. Then true left and right independant control without fear of accidentally going into reverse will be possible without having a detent or stop set up. http://www.ktone.org/images/FSD_ken.jpg

Actually I am a detective in real life:) Anyway, good point about the null zone.More news...I already have a reply from Pete Dowson. Now I just have to digest it. I'm going to ponder this until tomorrow. Here is his reply...--------------------------------------------------Hi Boyd,>> I have a question about the potential of FSUIPC. I have the CH yokewith three levers. Let's call them levers X,Y, and Z from left to right. Ihave assigned lever X to engine 1 thrust and lever Z to engine 2 thrust foruse on my DreamFleet 737. What I would like to do is use the Y lever forreverse thrust. What I envision is the lever being in a null setting in thedown position and then full reverse in the full forward position. Thiswould be possible if page 1 of 6 in the FSUIPC joystick settings area wouldallow for the reverse range. Is that correct? <http://home.houston.rr.com/checklist/checklist.html

Boyd, he is a great guy and if it were not for his efforts a lot of us would not be enjoying our dual throttle controls. It sounds like the "Throttle" assignmet (Meaning all throttles on page 1 of FSUIPC) within FS is incapable of providing reverse. That means the only way I see you can achieve what you are wanting to do is through CH Control Manager software which can be very confusing to get working but with it you can assign F2 keystrokes to an axis (The Center one) Or so I have read, but I cannot use this software with my USB cordless mouse because it tries to take control of it as well, so you are on your own to figure out how to set it up. Good Luck and let us know if, when and how you get it working. Take Care,http://www.ktone.org/images/FSD_ken.jpg

Well, I sent the thread to Pete and he said that he may include it* in the next release of FSUIPC after Christmas.*-'It' being having an idle and reverse range available for the thrust (all engines) option on page 1 of 6 under Joysticks.I hope it works out. FANTATIC NEWS ALL!!!Pete Dowson just sent me the beta for FSUIPC Version 2.944 and it includes an axis for the reversers! All you do is use your mixture lever (whichever lever you assign as the mixture axis) and calibrate it on a new page (page 7 of 7) under the joysticks tab in FSUIPC. It's so cool. It even knows not to undock the reversers unless all throttles are at idle. Pete said that he should release the new version around the end of the week. It's so neat to see an idea come to reality! Boyd, That is Excellent News! Pete really is a great Guy. Now I need some more axis's to include everything I want. I was going to ask Pete if he could make the Cowl Flap assignment to an axis much like he did for the flaps but I am already out of axis's so I didn't bother him yet. Glad you got it set up the way you wanted it. Happy Flying!http://www.ktone.org/images/FSD_ken.jpg

Great work Boyd, thanks to you and Peter another avenue for 'as real as it gets' just opened up. Thanks again for your diligence.
