December 24, 200223 yr I have used ActiveSky now for a week and generally like the program but you have to be patient! It takes time to load. I compared it to WeatherCenter and FS_Meteo. All programs are good, which is best is hard to define as it depends on what you want. ActiveSky models wind and turbulence by far the best. The clouds depend upon your setup but WeatherCenter seems to give better clouds at startup but ActiveSky maintains the weather away from the source and climbing to altitude especially as the TAF problem seems to have been fixed. Play with the settings of FSUIPC but make sure the changes in the directory are set and follow the threads on this forum for good suggestions as to how to make it work better. Certainly improved ActiveSky for me.FS_Meteo does wind away from US better but really does that matter? All programs have a problem at altitude while on route. At best I get a layer many thousands of feet below when I am at 33000. I like to fly in bad weather on the coast of BC and Alaska and ActiveSky manages this the best. No program can let you see the bad weather coming. Maybe that is something for future versions of FS.All in all ActiveSky is a very good program that will improve as Damian continues to respond to these Threads.ActiveSky is the best!!
