ATIS differences

Featured Replies

Damian, I've had your product for about 2 weeks and I have to say that I've had very little problem with it. It's dramatically improved the flying environment, both visually and operationally, with practically zero effort on my part! I do have a question and a suggestion: I've noted that in a couple of instances ATIS reports a difference sometimes in barometric pressure. Almost always lower than what WXRE reports. This rarely happens but when it does, for example, ATIS will report 30.17 while WXRE reports 30.19. No matter how long I wait, this doesn't change. I've also noted that, while enroute, any ATIS I tune to will report the winds aloft instead of the winds on the ground. Do I have something set wrong? As for my suggestion, perhaps you might consider adding an internal feature that, while online getting the weather, checks to see if there is an update available and asks if you would like to download it. Just a thought. Thanks for a great piece of software and Merry Christmas!Jon

I am getting the same thing running Radar Contact 3.0. When Otto contacts ATIS for weather at 50 miles from destination, winds are always reported as current winds aloft (as seen on FSNav moving map display). However upon approach and landing, winds seem to be correct.Steve ParkKSDFwww.livewireairlines.com

Guys, this is a known issue & is being worked on by both Damian & JD. A fix is expected mid Jan 2003.
