Cannot get downloaded wx files to work

Featured Replies

Hi there,I have just bought ActiveSky and I am trying to use it on my computer which does not have an internet connection.I am getting wx files from my friend who also has this program but when I put them in the ActiveSky dir it tells me:Metar Get Request - Problem reading offline wx files. Please check your files or re-download a new set. Also the same sort message with FD Get Request. When I loaded the program it worked OK with the default wx files. It looks to me that I have wasted my money here.Is there any hope please????Richard

Hi there againI have found out what was wrong.I had put a shortcut to the exe file on my Windows XP Home START menu and every time I clicked on it the error - Error reading wxre.ini file - there may be an offline file/folder incorrectly set. Check your INI file. However if I started it from the exe file in ActiveSky directory or from the Shortcut I put on the desktop everything started up fine.So all is well but it is rather odd.See ya allRichard

Thanks for the info rgbinns, I have the same problem and haven't stumbled onto your solution ... I'll give it a try. Offline is most important to me as I don't have a dedidcated internet connection but I'm yet to get any downloaded set to work.
