hi i have been using active sky wrxe for a bit and it looks greathowever i get times when the weather just vanishes into thin air !i have unchecked the taf bit and the update metar as mentionedin the newsgroups but to no avail however i have been running theactive wrxe only and have only recently noticed the otherstartup icon active sky 2002 which will only run when 2002is running should i be running both of these and what changesshould i make in this option anyway this is getting a bit longand i am more confused can anyone give me some pointersthanks mark

First, welcome to wxRe Mark!! If I don't answer your questions, please post again. I get the idea that you have the freeware version called Active Sky, and the payware version called wxRE installed. If this is true, then just run ONE of these, not both. wxRE will run without FS started, ActiveSky will not. Now, let's talk just about wxRE. I hope you have made the correct settings that are in the manual. Have you? Remember there are also settings in FSUIPC that may need to be changed. Go through them again and post your results, step by step.Hope this helps.

hi thanks for the reply that cleared that one upi must have forgot that i downloaded that demo anywayto start with when i have overcast weather i can see the blue horizonall around now in the instructions it says that if youhave overcast horizon vis reduction checked it should dealwith this problem i have it checked but i still get the blue horizonany ideasthanks mark

Most people cannot get rid of the blue horizon completely. You can reduce it a bit by going into FSUICP and under Visibility check off the Apply Surface vis limits and Set Graduated Visibility. In FS also set Visibility to 60nm.
