January 19, 200323 yr Hi Damian,OK, my last post kinda sucked - pretty vague and not much solid info. I've done some troubleshooting in regards to that and have found that some of what I was seeing wasn't a bug at all (the vis problems are something else which you have already addressed - thanks :-) ).This is in respect to the program not picking up a nearby station, or picking up "wrong" stations. I duplicated my setup, and found that my weather was still out to lunch, but AS did find a couple of nearby stations that I didn't know existed (and neither does Nav Canada :-) ). I was at Bella Bella once again (dodging 747's :-), only here those 747's are referred to as "mosquitoes" :-lol)) and then opened up AS 1.1. I tried the online option again, and this time it did select a station, CWAU. I had never heard of it before so I called up Nav Canada and they hadn't heard of it either. I then pulled up my world ICAO codes and sure enough, it was there, and was practically on top of me. It's a light station, rather than an airport. So, I then went and pulled up the NOAA site and again, there it was, so kudos to NOAA for including it. HOWEVER, and this is the problem part, the time/date on the METAR was 132100. CYBD, which was 60 miles away was giving me today's weather (used the "Get" button to load it, then checked it with Nav Canada and NOAA), and it was dead on.I then tried the offline option again, and this time it didn't see CWAU, but instead found CWMS, another light station quite close by (this is REALLY handy having wxRE show you the distance to the wx reporting facility - super touch as it really gives you some valuable info!!), but again its METAR was for 132100.So, for those folks who are receiving "old" METAR's, it isn't AS, it's NOAA, but this in turn points up a problem. Is there any way that one can filter out stations or reports that are out of date, OR, failing that, can one modify say several immediately surrounding stations with a known good report using Notepad and the copy/paste command? One idea I do have though, is maybe you (Damian) could go and individually check each reporting station in the world for location and accuracy of reports, and adj..... huh? What's that Damian? Uhhh, gee, I don't think it is physically possible to put my CPU up there Damian... :-lolOK, seriously, if editing a station by hand using Notepad is a viable alternative to the few locations where this might be a problem, perhaps folks could look at this as an option. However, if you think it might corrupt the file, then it would be best left alone with another workaround, if possible. Thanks Damian, looks like things are coming along very well, save for the few issues you are addressing now. I just thought I'd point this one out so folks wouldn't be reporting a bug with AS as it is really a NOAA thing, and there may in fact be a workaround for it.Glenn
