Version 1.15 possible issue

Featured Replies

Hi Damian,I just tried version 1.15, and got a strange visual effect which I haven't seen before in previous versions...In scattered cloud conditions (I haven't tried others), as the view is panned around, the clouds are being cut away with a straight edge. Difficult to describe, the effect is quite subtle and doesn't seem to apply to all cloud layers. I'm assuming it has been introduced by v1.15 as I've never noticed it before. But you never know, maybe I never had quite the right conditions :-)RegardsJon

Jon,Were there ANY text messages on the screen at the time? Pause? Any shift + Z data? Any of these are known to create sharp edged clouds.

I have noticed a similar (I think) problem, although it's common to FS-Meteo and even FS's "real weather." Sometimes when I'm flying at 2x (and faster) through clouds, if I switch to the down-view (numpad 5), the panel will still be displayed, and will be cut diagonally. It gradually fades away, but I believe it's a bug in FS2k2 -- I don't think it has anything to do with ActiveSky.Not sure if this is the same problem you're experiencing or not. Does it happen when flying at 1x acceleration?Good luck!~ AndyMA825/KSFO (Meridian VA)kZAU ARTCC/STU+

I'm flying at 1x acceleration and as far as I remember there were no text messages on screen. I'll try it again later today - maybe it was a one off glitch, you never know...

All FS2002 clouds (be they 3rd party or default) are "flat" if you look at them sideways. That is, if you look out the side window, then will appear totally flat as you go by them (this doesn't always happen I don't think, but it is frequent depending on where the cloud is in relation to you). That's not a wxRE thing I'm afraid.Glenn

I think there was shift-Z data. Looks like that was the problem. It certainly hasn't happened again. Thanks very much :)

Thanks for researching this and responding here.

Hi allThey are supposed to turn to face you even if you look sideways. But if you have any text in your window may it be Shift+Z or Brakes or Window Zoom or any other text in the window it will not turn to face you if looking sideways. There is a setting in the fs2002.cfg that can be altered to turn those texts off.Regards
