ATC vectors to wrong runway

Featured Replies

Today I made a flight from Kansas City to Wiley Post, OKC, using Wxre. I entered the airport ID for the destination and checked the box for force destination weather. All went well until ATC informed me I would be given vectors to a visual approach to Runway 25R - Wxre was telling me the winds at KPWA were 180 at 17! Since FS2002 gives no option, I followed the vectors until I was turned over to KPWA tower on final, who promptly instructed me to enter right traffic for an approach to 17L! I had this happen once before, but thought I made an error - this time there were no changes to the flight plan or aircraft (PSS Dash 8) enroute. Is there something I am missing, or is this a quirk of FS2002?Dale

Dale,In the options screen change the distance to 85 nm. I had my set-up for 75 and still not far enough, it always worked but since WxRe 1.15 and FSUPIC 2.972 I had to bump that distance to 85 nm, for force to work.Hope this helps.

Dale,Couple of things to try.1. Under Options, make sure that the "Disable Forced Wind Updates is checked.2. Increase the "Force Range(nm)to something closer to 100.See if these things help. If not, please post back.Hope this helps,Jim

Jim,Thanks to you and Bowings - I will try your suggestions on a flight tonight.Dale
