March 6, 200323 yr I'm having a lot of problems with ActiveSky and rain. Quite often I'm at an airport which I know it is raining at, the downloaded Metar indicates rain but no rain appears in FS2002. If I look at the weather menu in FS2002 it shows no rain. I download the same Metar using FSMeteo and sure enough FS2002 has rain.An example of the metar is:EGGD 051420Z 28008KT 6000 RA SCT001 BKN002 06/05 Q1009.If I use FSFlightmax it shows the rain echoes ok. Also as an aside why are the rain echoes in ActiveSky shown as having such a small range form the reporting station compared with FSMeteo? It appears like there are large gaps between the echoes where it isn't raining. Can anybody help?
March 6, 200323 yr Morsoft,First welcome to the AVSIM forums and to ActiveSky. For your rain issue try clearing all FS weather and give AS time to refresh FS. On the initial load-up this may take up to five minutes. Then see if rain doesn't show up. For the FltMax question, keep in mind that AS only sends one METAR at a time to FS and to FltMax. I have never used Meteo so I cannot speak on that. Remember that FS default downloaded weather is for all stations reporting. If you have more questions, post away and we will try to help.Hope this helps,Jim
March 6, 200323 yr I had the same problem last week. My fix was to uninstall ActiveSky, then reinstall ActiveSky 1.0, 1.1 and 1.15 in that order. No problems since then.I hope this helps,John
March 6, 200323 yr Jim Thanks - Cleared the weather and waited 10 minutes... still no rain.John Many Thanks - Uninstalled, Reinstalled as you suggested.... guess what? RAIN.Any ideas why this should have happened? Thanks again bothMal
March 6, 200323 yr Mal,Glad you got rain up and working. Sometimes files become corrupt over time. Even Windows sometimes needs to be freshly installed. Check your FSUIPC version, should be 2.972.Jim
