First try at using wxre

Featured Replies

Hi... just want to say I bought Activesky WXre a couple days ago and it is working very well. Flew CYGK to CYYZ and FS2002 ATC vectored me to the correct runway and didn't change runways while I was on final! The force feature did the trick. Two minor gotchas:1. as it says in the manual, the first time you start wxre, do it before starting FS2002 so that you can get it all setup and click away the first-time-use popups.2. I placed a shortcut in TotalCommander (a windows GUI) and found out that wxre needs the start path set or it will complain of an inaccessible wxre.ini file.I find the flightwatch voice quality on 122.0 quite distorted and of low volume. When I play the wav files standalone, outside of the sim, they sound equally distorted. Was this done on purpose to give it that compressed, AM radio comms sound? It looks trivial to add your own sound files... has anyone made a new set that they are sharing?Cheers,Peter

Peter,Thanks for the feedback. We hope you will contine to enjoy wxRE. As far as the voices go we tried to make them sound as realistic as possible, the AM radio comms sound. For the volume, try to lower all FS sounds until you find a better balance. I do have a new set fo sound files for use. If interested, drop me an email and I will forward them to you.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
