May 30, 200323 yr Hi Damian,Thanks for that.I keep getting messages re winds aloft not working (when I'm running in conjunction with Active Sky Australia module), which saves to a current set for offline use.The setup of this involved appending some Australian data to the FDWINDS.TXT file first, such as:A30,S,37,40,E,144,50B30,S,37,54,E,147,35C30,S,37,40,E,144,50D30,S,37,38,E,142,00etc etc.Does V1.8 still use this FDWINDS.TXT file or is there some other reason for the error do you think? Many thanks.
May 30, 200323 yr Captain K,No, FDWinds.txt is not being used. Look at the file called WMO.txt in your AS folder. The format of the data is a little different. June 3, 200323 yr Hi,I release the update to 1.8 just yesterday. Users of ActiveSky WXRE 1.8 need to install and use ActiveSky Australia 1.8, and ensure you following the post installation procedure whereby you copy the two files wmo.txt and icao.txt to the ActiveSky WXRE directory. This is in the release notes (readme.txt).Similarly Users of ActiveSky WXRE 1.7 need to install and use ActiveSky Australia 1.7 or 1.8, and ensure you following the post installation procedure whereby you copy the two files wmo.txt and icao.txt to the ActiveSky WXRE directory. Again this is in the release notes.ActiveSky Australia 1.8 is available for download from AVSIM, and hopefully you shouldn't have the problem. In answer to the above question, wmo.txt replaces FDWINDS.TXT which is no longer supported from Version 1.7 due to the change in ActiveSky WXRE winds aloft.Regards,Stephen Melis
