A few questions about ActiveSky

Featured Replies

I don't believe I have the latest version. If not, I will get it soon. Meanwhile, I have been using it, and these are some problems i am encountering...Weather data is unavailable 50% of the time.... It takes a very long time to download latest wx sometimes (i have dsl connection, and sometimes its very fast when downloaded the wx from activesky)When coming into approach, I will be cleared to land on one runway, then when i contact tower, he tells me to land on the opposite end. I know this is due to changes in winds from whenever i got clearance to approach the field in the first place. How can I fix these problems? Thanks!PS - when the data is unavailable, what is offline mode, and how does it work?

Welcome,1. Please update to our new version, v1.86, here at the AVSIM library.2. Web traffic and server traffic will effect download speeds.3. Approach winds can be locked by using the Destination/Force Box on the main screen after entering a IACO code or by checking the Disable Forced Wind Update box in the Options screen. Any of these will fix your runway situation.4. Offline mode uses weather data you have downloaded in the past and want to use while disconnected from the Internet. Our Users Manual does a good job explaining the whole process. Please respond to anything you feel the need to!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
