FSUIPC and Flight Watch Question

Featured Replies

Hello!I am a bit confused about a couple of things.First, I am running FS2004 with the latest version of FSUIPC (3.04 - Registered)and after reading the FS004.txt file that came with Active Sky 1.9, I got the imression that I should use the same FSUIPC settings as in FS2002. Does this mean I can just copy the FSUIPC.ini file over from the ActiveSky foler to the FS9 module folder, or do I have to set up FSUIPC manually? If I can't use the .ini file that comes with ActiveSky, what are the settings that I need to use?Second, when I tune the radio to 122.0 in FS2004 with ActiveSky running, I no longer get a text or verbal report of the weather, like I did in FS2002.What can I do to fix this? Thanks!Scott

Scott,You are correct about the FSUIPC settings. There are a few wxRE settings that should be made. You can use the .ini file that came with the update! This is the first I have heard that FlightWatch was not working. I just fired up my copy of FS04 and it did work just fine for me. Does it still work in FS02 for you? Under Options in AS, is the Disable Text Messages still un-checked?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Well, after messing with ActiveSky for a little bit, I finally got Flight Watch to report the weather.I ended up setting ActiveSky to a priority of ABOVENORMAL in Windows XP, and this seemed to fix things for me.Maybe it was working before, but I just didn't wait long enough for the weather to download or something.Anyways, it seems to be working fine now! Thanks for the swift reply to my questions.Scott :-)

You are welcome! Glad you got things working again.JimActiveSky Support
