September 16, 200322 yr DamianI have tweaked ActiveSky 1.91 and FSUIPC 3.07 as per your documentation and still get inconsistent weather that is downloaded and what is being presented in FS2004. It appears that winds and altimeter settings are being sent to FS2004 but clouds are not being set properly. Typicaly when first starting a flight, all looks good with clouds, wind and altimeter but shortly after takeoff clouds disappear without any kind of transitioning and all correct representation of real life weather is lost. I look out my window and see overcast but with ActiveSky and FS2004 all is clear and the ground is visable? "See attached file for example of weather" If you and anyone elso could have a look at these ini files and give suggestions as to what should be changed, much would be appreciated.ActiveSky 1.91[General]WXREOfflinePath = F:ActiveSkyMetarExportPath = F:ActiveSkyMetarOperationMode = OnlineDefaultOfflineFile = expcycle16Z.wxdDisableCloudTransitions = TrueDisableMessages = TrueLowBandwidthWinds = FalseExportMetars = FalseAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueMETARUpdateInterval = 5FDUpdateInterval = 45UpdateMETAROnNewStation = TrueUseShortTermTAF = FalseWindsAloftSimulation = TrueFS2004Writes = TrueIdlePriority = FalseVATSIMMetars = FalseDefaultForceRange = 80ZuluConversion = -6RainVisReduction = FalseOvercastHorizonVis = FalseDisableForceWindUpdates = TrueTAFProcessing = FalseWakeTurb = TrueDisableUpdatesWhenForced = FalseStartPaused = FalseCloudTransitionInterval = 10MinimumCloudThickness = 200UseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONEProxyPort = 80FSUIPC 3.07[General]GenerateCirrus=YesWindShearSharp=NoUpperWindGusts=NoGraduatedVisibility=YesLowerVisAltitude=6000UpperVisAltitude=25000ExtendMetarMaxVis=YesPatchSimApAlt=YesAutoClearWeather=YesExtendTopWind=YesWindSmoothness=1SmoothPressure=YesPressureSmoothness=10SmoothVisibility=YesVisibilitySmoothness=2MaxSurfaceWind=0WindLimitLevel=200WindDiscardLevel=400WindAjustAltitude=NoWindAjustAltitudeBy=2000MinimumVisibility=0MaximumVisibilityFewClouds=6000MaximumVisibility=2000MaximumVisibilityOvercast=2000MaximumVisibilityRainy=1000UpperVisibility=6000OneCloudLayer=NoThinClouds=NoThinThunderClouds=NoCloudThinness=1000ThunderCloudThinness=10000CloudTurbulence=YesCloudIcing=YesWindTurbulence=NoSuppressAllGusts=NoExternalOptionControl=YesAutoTuneADF=NoMagicBattery=YesAxisCalibration=NoTCASid=TailTCASrange=40KeepFS98CloudCover=NoRudderSpikeRemoval=YesElevatorSpikeRemoval=NoAileronSpikeRemoval=NoShowPMcontrols=NoTrapUserInterrupt=YesNavFreq50KHz=NoClockSync=YesSmoothIAS=NoTrafficScanPerFrame=10SuppressCloudTurbulence=NoSuppressWindTurbulence=NoFixWindows=NoFixControlAccel=NoMainMenu=&ModulesSubMenu=&FSUIPC ...History=QVVBWIL0KUGHQX4BHQI2OWindSmoothing=YesWhiteMessages=NoReversedElevatorTrim=NoSetVisUpperAlt=NoVisUpperAltLimit=6000CentredDialogue=NoClearWeatherDynamics=YesOwnWeatherChanges=NoGrant BeachWindow XP ProIntel D850MV MotherboardIntel Pentium 4 2.00 GHz 1000 Mb RAMATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128 MbVMAX Flight Systems AFCS III Yoke USBCirrus Ruder Pedals USBFlightLink Twin Engine PQ USBGoFlight GF-AC Cockpit Control System1x RP48, 1x GF-P8, 2x GF-T8, 1x GF-45, 3x GF166A, 1x GF-MCP & 1x GF-LGTMicroSoft FS2002/FS2004 / X-Plane 7.00 / Fly! September 16, 200322 yr Grant,Your weather settings look good to me, but in AS, lower cloud transition interval to 5. From your screen shot I would say: "Welcome to Microsoft's idea of overcast from above!" It's a known issue with FS04. Damian may be working on a fix for AS 2, but has stated here that it may cause a large performance hit on mid to lower CPU machines. Also remember that wxRE is still a global weather program and sometimes smooth cloud transitions are not possible, but lowering that interval stated above may help a bit. Please write back with other questions or problems.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
