December 20, 200322 yr Just departed with the following metar at my departure point:KJKL 201453Z AUTO VRB05KT 4SM -SN BR OVC009 M06/M07 A3026 RMK AO2 SLP264 I could see the ground all the way up to ~5000 feet altitude.Visibility at takeoff was set at 4 miles.I have enhanced overcast option checked. Was my expectation for truly flying into and out of a low overcast layer while using AS2004 unrealistic? Thanks
December 20, 200322 yr Thanks for the METAR. It shows a overcast layer at 9000 and some broken clouds. Is this what you saw?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
December 20, 200322 yr Jim,OVC009 is 900 feet. OVC090 would be 9000 feet. So I should have hit a layer at 900 feet per the metar in my original post. Like I said, I wasn't truly in no vis conditions (iside clouds) until I got to over 5000 feet. Of course this has always been the case for mee with FS9 when it comes to low overcast layers.Any help on what I know is a generic FS9 issue that AS2004 was attempting to address would be appreciated. I know you guys are putting in a lot of time addressing AS2004 startup questions like mine, so don't lose sleep or time to yourself addressing this. Dykes
