December 21, 200322 yr First of all, my compliments not only on the program, but the manaul as well! The manual is clear, concise and does the job extremely well. That has saved a bunch of time in the end.I do have 3 very quick questions here from the manual as they pertain to the program's operations.1) What exactly does the time conversion factor mean to the program? What I'm confused on is that I live in the RW (well, some people might argue that I haven't lived in any kind of RW since getting FS, but that's another story... :-) )in Ontario, Canada. That means an offset of GMT-5 hrs. However, I often fly in BC, Canada (GMT-8) or Norway (GMT+1). I have the automatic TZ detection selected, but am wondering if this is a correct procedure given where I fly is not the same as where I live?2) I will on occasion use strictly archived wx. I do have my "Online Updates" selected however. With the Online Updates turned on, will current wx be downloaded when I hit the refresh button, overwriting the archived data? In otherwords, if I want to use strictly archived wx and the TAF processing for that, should I deselect the Online Updates before downloading the archive?3) Lastly, and this is more of a comment/help aid I suppose, but on my keyboard (MS Natural), I have an F Lock button. What I've discovered is that on this keyboard, I have to use CTRL+SHIFT+F12 with the F Lock on in order to bring up the radar screen. That's not a problem at all, but others might run into a similar problem, so there's the solution if needed. Thanks again guys! Great work on this!
December 21, 200322 yr Glenn,You are loving all this aren't you?1. You have it right. Leave your offset to -5. This allows the correct METAR to be downloaded. Remember that a METAR set is world wide so the BC or the Norway METAR will be current.2. Yes, correct again. You would overwrite the processed data with the current data. However, the archive would not be affected.3. Thanks for the hint!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
