Active Sky 2004 and Radar Contact

Featured Replies

First off, I am very impressed with the new edition. Thanks for doing such a great job. I am however noticing a strange event on every flight I have flown since installing the new edition. All through the flight from beginning to end things work just fine. I get good framerates and a minumum of stuttering. However when Radar Contact tells me do descend to 10000 feet on approach, as soon as the plane reaches the viscinity of 10000, my computer starts to lock up for about 5 or 6 seconds at a time. It then runs for about 2 seconds and then locks up again for 5 seconds. It all stops as soon as I turn off Radar Contact. I have tried this 6 or 7 times with different planes both freeware and payware and the same thing happens every time.I am using Windows 98 SE and the registered version of FSUIPC with "minumum weather defaults" checked.Anyone else having this problem? Thanks for any help with thisRoger Hollands

I've not seen these problems with using RC and AS2k4 together. I suspect the problem is Win98 ;) but beyond that, make sure you have the _latest_ AdvDisplay and FSUIPC.HTH,

Edwin:Thanks for the reply. I also suspect that Windows 98 is the culprit.I do have the very latest and registered version of FSUIPC but I am not sure about the ADVDisplay. I will certainly look into that. Thanks again for the reply.Roger
