December 24, 200322 yr I recently purchased AS2004 and I am really enjoying it. I did run across a minor issue though. When I try to import some flight plans I get the message: "Unable to import selected file...". Upon further investigation I discovered that FS2004 is saving the flight plans with degree symbols in the latitudes and longitudes. I found that if I load the flight plan file into notepad and change the degree symbols to asterisks then AS2004 will load the flight plan correctly. Is there a setting anywhere in FS2004 to cause it to use asterisks instead of degree symbols when it saves it's flight plans? Thanks,Don
December 24, 200322 yr Don,Below is an unedited plan of mine directly from FS04:[flightplan]AppVersion=9.0.30612title=KMSY to KCGXdescription=KMSY, KCGXtype=VFRroutetype=0cruising_altitude=23500departure_id=KMSY, N29* 59.25', W90* 15.37', +000004.00departure_position=GATE G 4destination_id=KCGX, N41* 51.24', W87* 36.45', +000593.00departure_name=Armstrong New Orleans Intldestination_name=Meigswaypoint.0=, KMSY, , KMSY, A, N29* 59.25', W90* 15.37', +000004.00,waypoint.1=, KCGX, , KCGX, A, N41* 51.24', W87* 36.45', +000593.00,I notice that the latitude and longitude do not have degree symbols. Can you double check and see if your plans are not imports from a 3rd party planner. This is why the suggestion is made to open and re-save imported plans. Thanks for your observation!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
December 24, 200322 yr Hi Jim,Thanks for the quick response. The fact that you are not seeing the problem prompted me to look into it further and I discovered why it was happening.A while back I had added the following line to the FS9.cfg file:DISPLAY_FRACTIONAL_MINUTES=0I did this when I was working on an AFCAD2 airport design in order to get a more accurate lat/lon display when in slew mode. It appears that this setting also changes the way in which FS9 saves lat/lon information to the flight plan files. I removed the line from the FS9.cfg file and now FS9 is saving the files with asterisks and they are loading fine into AS2004.I also want to say that I am very impressed with your product. So far it is working wonderfully and I was really surprised by the immediate improvement it made visually (even under the rather bland weather conditions we are having at the moment in the DFW area). My fs9 skies have never looked better! :)Thanks!Don
