December 27, 200322 yr Ok, I am still having the problems of having weather and clouds just pop up out of nowhere. I'll tell you what I do step by step and give you my INI files so hopefully we get get this straight.....today I flew KDEN-KABQ. ABQ was reporting: 270156Z 28013KT 10 SM FEW050 03/M08 A2994 RMK AO2 SLP130 T00331078 KABQ 270054Z 270124 28010G17KT P6SM FEW045 SCT060 FM0200 26008G14KT P6SM SCT070 FM0600 20007KT P6SM FEW080 FM1600 26013G23KT P6SM FEW080.When I get to ABQ, I am flying over a blanket of clouds, I begin to descend and they disappear, leaving a few nice puffy clouds. Then as I get lower those leave and more clouds come in and I begin to fly through rain. Then those leave and I am in a think cloud. When I get under the cloud, sky is clear above me. I had clearance to land visually and for a while i couldnt see the runway. Clearly there is a problem here. Here is how i set things up. I make my flight plan. I open FS, open the weather and set it to clear sky. I then go to my airport. Once in the plane, I go to FSUIPC and hit "Clear all weather" and "Minimum weather". I open AS2004, bring up my flight plan and load it. I then print (for whatever reason it always tells me to "***Route Based wind smoothing features enabled - processed data may not match real time reports! For absolute accurate data, turn off wind smoothing" with that being said, I am almost certain that it is off.) Once all is loaded I hit refresh and get back to the plane. Usually things are fine for departure, except for some clouds dissapearing and popping up. Most problems happen when I get to my arrival. In my FS settings I have Sight distance at 100, cloud draw at 30, 100% 3D and Maximum detailed coverage. Everything should be working i figure, but I must be missing something. Please help me out, and let me know if you need me to do anything. //AS2004 configuration file[General]WindowPosX = 5160WindowPosY = 5205DefaultWeatherFolder = C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesActiveSky2004SuppressionCeiling = 10000SurfaceWindLimit = 10CloudLayerLimit = 10LocalSuppressionRange = 30OnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueRouteWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = FalseDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = TrueAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 15VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = -5TAFProcessing = FalseWakeTurb = TrueStartPaused = FalseUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONE[General]History=0SRH8H3N7H9T2QBCZPI2ITCASid=FlightTCASrange=40TrafficScanPerFrame=10AxisCalibration=NoCentredDialogue=NoClearWeatherDynamics=YesOwnWeatherChanges=NoWeatherReadInterval=4MainMenu=&ModulesSubMenu=&FSUIPC ...RudderSpikeRemoval=NoElevatorSpikeRemoval=NoAileronSpikeRemoval=NoSmoothIAS=YesFixControlAccel=NoMagicBattery=NoWindSmoothing=NoWhiteMessages=NoGraduatedVisibility=NoLowerVisAltitude=6000UpperVisAltitude=25000UpperVisibility=6000GenerateCirrus=NoWindShearSharp=NoUpperWindGusts=YesExtendMetarMaxVis=NoPatchSimApAlt=NoAutoClearWeather=YesExtendTopWind=NoWindSmoothness=5SmoothPressure=NoPressureSmoothness=5SmoothVisibility=NoVisibilitySmoothness=2MaxSurfaceWind=0WindLimitLevel=200WindDiscardLevel=400WindAjustAltitude=NoWindAjustAltitudeBy=2000MinimumVisibility=0MaximumVisibilityFewClouds=0MaximumVisibility=0MaximumVisibilityOvercast=0MaximumVisibilityRainy=0OneCloudLayer=NoThinClouds=NoThinThunderClouds=NoCloudThinness=1000ThunderCloudThinness=10000CloudTurbulence=NoCloudIcing=NoWindTurbulence=NoSuppressAllGusts=NoExternalOptionControl=YesAutoTuneADF=NoKeepFS98CloudCover=NoReversedElevatorTrim=NoShowPMcontrols=NoTrapUserInterrupt=YesNavFreq50KHz=NoClockSync=NoSetVisUpperAlt=NoVisUpperAltLimit=6000SuppressCloudTurbulence=NoSuppressWindTurbulence=NoFixWindows=NoThrottleSyncAll=NoSpoilerIncrement=512MoveBGLvariables=Yes[JoystickCalibration]FlapsSetControl=0ReverserControl=66292MaxThrottleForReverser=0AileronTrimControl=0RudderTrimControl=0Brad Zimmer
December 27, 200322 yr Brad,For your next flight turn off overcast enhancement and fog layer generation. We'll get this!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
December 27, 200322 yr Tried that and it seems the weather reports seem to be more of what they should be, but I still get clouds popping up and dissappearing. I cant put my finger on it...but the reports seem better.
December 27, 200322 yr just now on final at KPHL they were reporting clear skies, few at 17900 and wind 180/14. On final i had that weather, then the wind shifted to the north at 320/20 and fog and or clouds. it then went back to what it should be, then back again to the clouds, then back to what it should have been around 1000 ft. Clearly something is wrong. I am flying online....could there be a conflict?Brad
December 28, 200322 yr well im not sure about that particular flight. I might not have. Yet i do fly a lot without VATSIM, just online for weather so many of the times I have those problems and am not even using SB.
