AS2002 winds up to 110 kts!

Featured Replies

Hi all.I still have AS2002 with FSUIPC 2.975 version. When I'm at FL290 or above I always have winds from 80 up to 110 kts never below... In summertime too!!!!Anyone knows this problem. Please help me.Carlo

I know about the issue, but I don't see the problem. Where abouts are you flying? Typically upper winds of the Troposphere are that high - easily. If you are anywhere near the sub polar or sub tropical jetstreams, then they can get much higher than that. If AS2002 is giving you those kinds of winds, then be glad - it's doing its job rather well.

Hi GlennI always fly in Europe zone and I have a daily flight in Italy.A real pilot of MD80 told me that, those winds sometimes could be found at those FL.But, he said, sometimes not always.Do you agree with this?Thank you for your help.ByeCarlo

Yes, I could see that as probable. However, winds are always higher in the upper levels than they are near the ground. This is due to much less friction (friction with the ground is what causes the variable windspeeds and direction for the most part in low-level winds). I'd still say what you are seeing is correct.
