Error initialising

Featured Replies

Hi I've just purchased AS2004. It started working, but now when i run AS2004 i get a error message that says: " Error initialising - Check your INI file!" After i've clicked ok, the AS2004 screen is displayed. I am online, fs9 is running, positioned at Cardiff (EGFF) The Closest station report is 99999999nm where it should be about 1nm. The bottom 3 boxes show a weather report, but all three boxes start with the word invalid.Any suggestions?Cheers Ben Rudder

Ben,Thanks for the purchase and sorry you are having trouble.Single computer system or networked?During installation did AS find your FS directory?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

I'm on a single PC system. (winxp P4, 2.66MHz, 512MB DDR RAM)Installation went fine and it found FS9. I installed AS2004 from CD for people with the previous activesky, if that makes a difference. I found it installed an AS2004 and a radar folder in the modules directory of FS9. Is this correct?Chears Ben Rudder

Thanks Ben,Install looks good. Please check on your FSUIPC version in the Modules folder. Do you have Weather Center installed on your system? If yes, please uninstall Weather Center and re-install AS2004. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Hi JimI have never had WC and my FSUIPC is 3.135 dated 18th Dec 2003. Have re-installed AS2004 a few times, making sure the uninstallation did not leave any files.Any other suggestions?Ben

One other point I forgot to raise:I notice that the old active sky v1.92 is still in my FS9 folders. Would this only make a difference if the old active sky was actually running, or do i need to delete this? Also when AS2004 worked to begin with, the radar function did not give any precipitation returns. I see others are having this problem. (FSUIPC is unregistered)CheersBen

Ben,I said "ugh" when I read this! wxRE should be installed outside of FS and should not be running at the same time. wxRE only need to be installed so that AS2004 confirms it's existence. Suggestions:uninstall wxRE and AS2004.install wxRE outside of FS.install AS2004.Then see what happens!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Hi JimMy active sky was always like that and it worked! Anyway I've been playing around, and I now think AS2004 is working fine. I tried to uninstall one last time, and when i re-installed it, it worked fine. It may have been because I put the wrong order number in. I'm on a single PC, but i assumed i had to install the wideFS connector to get the radar to work.(I don't like reading instructions!) The last installation I didn't install wideFS connector, and the radar worked. Maybe this is why other people have found the radar is not working in a standalone situation.Anyway thanks for your time.Ben Rudder

Ben,I'm glad wxRE was working for you and now I'm very glad that AS2004 is working! The WideFS stuff is just for users that run things over a network.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
