January 16, 200422 yr This evening I flew from KDFW to KAMA, which wx brief showed as low vis and low ceiling, and the weather upon arrival was pretty much as reported, and the ATIS at the time seemed to be in agreement. Nowhere near miniums, but it sure had me working to do better than my usual somewhat sloppy ILS approaches. Very cool! The overcast on the way in was fantastic.I exited FS9 in order to log the flight and to take a short break before the return trip . When I started up again, and started AS2004 (with alpha patch), this is the METAR given for KAMAKAMA 160202Z 16006KT 2 1/2SM BR OVC003 06/06 A2996 RMK AO2 CIG 001V006which is just right for the earlier conditions. However, ATIS was reporting this:0300Z, wind 111 @ 05kts, VIS 6, -1400 OVC, A3003 10/06Note the negative celing. I tried the FSUIPC clear all weather button and a refresh in AS2004, but this did not change anything.I should add that the weather depicted at the time agreed with ATIS, not the METAR, except I'm not sure where the overcast actually started. It was well above the surface of the airport.
